The Little Red Jeep that Could
Grandma and Katie at Dinner
Cody drove the whole drive today since Katie had new teacher orientation this morning. He found a billboard with a picture of the devil that said "Go to church, or the devil will get you." Yay religion. He also really liked a chain of loan shops in Alabama called "Easy Money" which had drive throughs for loans. Cody made sure to notice the state entrance signs (apparently, Mississippi is the "birthplace of America's music").
We ate dinner in Birmingham at P.F. Chang's which Katie introduced Cody and Grandma to. They both loved it. "Delicious" is Grandma's word. She thinks Cody is a great driver and so smooth. Katie believe others would disagree. Our fortune cookies after dinner were entertaining- Grandma's-A secret admirer will soon send you a sign of affection. Cody's-Good news will be brought to you by mail. Katie's-Trust your intuition.
Grandma was a great sport and got out every two hours or less (this is for all of the family back home). She only grumbled once. :) We are all settled in for the night at a slightly sketchy motel (thanks Michael) just kidding...Now we are going to look up some big band music for the drive tomorrow. Yeah! Grandma decided that she likes Vitamin String Quartet a lot. We will be listening to a lot more of that! That's all for today. Sleep...
This is too cool! Wishing you all a wonderful journey! Thanks for sharing! I LOVE a good trip… even if I'm sadly left at home.
